Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 18, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information waitline ("we", "us") collects when you use getwaitline.com, the waitline plugin, and the dashboard at app.getwaitline.com (together, the "Service"), and how we use it. By using the Service you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

  • Account. When you sign in with Google we receive your email address and a Google account identifier. Advertisers are identified by the same Google sign-in.
  • Ad-serving events. When the plugin renders a sponsored line we record impression and click events, the campaign served, and timing. We also capture fraud signals tied to each event — IP address, a session identifier, and client/agent — used solely to detect bot and click-farm activity.
  • Payout details. To pay your earnings we use Stripe: you complete Stripe's own onboarding (bank and identity details go directly to Stripe — we never receive or store your bank account or card numbers), and we store the resulting Stripe account reference and payout/transfer references. If instead you redeem your balance as a Claude gift, we store the recipient email you provide and the gift order reference.
  • Advertiser billing. When an advertiser funds a campaign, payment is handled by our third-party payment processor (Stripe). Card details are entered directly with Stripe — we never receive or store your payment-card numbers. We store the campaign's amount, any account credit applied, and Stripe's confirmation/transaction reference.
  • Device pairing. To link the CLI plugin to your account we store short-lived pairing codes (only their hashes).
  • Usage analytics & install metrics. We use a product-analytics provider (PostHog) to understand how the Service is used: pages visited and navigation on getwaitline.com and the dashboard, and anonymous install metrics the installer script sends when you install or remove the plugin — whether Claude Code is present, your operating system, and an identifier derived from a one-way hash of your IP address (not the IP itself). This carries no message content or code. You can opt out of installer metrics by setting WAITLINE_NO_TELEMETRY=1 or DO_NOT_TRACK=1 before running the installer.
  • Cookies & local storage. Your browser stores a theme preference, your signed-in session token, and a first-party analytics identifier used to measure usage. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

How we use information

  • To serve sponsored lines and measure delivery.
  • To calculate your 50% revenue share and process payouts.
  • To detect and prevent fraud — bot traffic, click farms, and self-dealing — and to review withdrawals before they are paid.
  • To operate, secure, and improve the Service.

What advertisers see

Advertisers receive aggregate delivery and performance data (impressions, clicks, spend) for their own campaigns. They do not receive your email, IP address, or other personal identifiers.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us run the Service — authentication (Google), payment processing (Stripe), product analytics (PostHog), our event store, and payout infrastructure — and when required by law.

Retention

We keep account and earnings records for as long as your account is active and as needed for payouts, fraud prevention, accounting, and legal obligations. Fraud signals are retained so we can scrub earnings at payout time.

Your choices and rights

  • You can stop participating at any time by removing the plugin; setup writes a verbatim backup of your prior configuration so removal is clean.
  • You can opt out of anonymous install metrics by setting WAITLINE_NO_TELEMETRY=1 or DO_NOT_TRACK=1 before running the installer.
  • You may request access to or deletion of your personal data, subject to records we must retain for legal and anti-fraud purposes.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

The Service is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this policy; we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice.
